I am so excited to announce that I am once again teaching a day long yoga retreat at Century Inn in Scenery Hill in September.

I love yoga retreats. They are so rejuvenating to me. Spending time with other yogis, practicing, talking, and reflecting together renews my mind and body. While I love to leave town and spend a weekend or longer practicing yoga, the cost and time away from my work and family don’t make it possible for me very often. A local, day long retreat - now that I can do!

Century Inn is one of the most unique and charming places in Washington County. Learn more about the venue here.

The inn has a big gazebo near a pond in the back where we will be practicing. Brunch will be served in the inn. We will be spending most of the day outside, surrounded by nature.

This retreat is open to all levels of yoga students.

Are you curious about the philosophy behind your yoga practice? Maybe you read popular books on the Yoga Sutras or other Yoga texts that left you with more questions. This event is an opportunity to learn about some of the foundational philosophies of Yoga with a long-time teacher and yoga practitioner. Join Kate Olson for an informal discussion about The Yoga Sutras. Written by Patanjali around the 2nd century BCE, this ancient guide for living and practicing yoga is still applicable to our modern, daily lives. Through storytelling and open discussion, Kate will explain selected highlights from the first two books of the Yoga Sutras. This is a fun and relaxed environment. Be willing to open your mind, share, and laugh as you learn about The Yoga Sutras and ultimately, yourself.

Living the Yoga Sutras, an introduction to Yoga Philosophy

This is a four hour mini intensive for yoga teachers who have completed at least a 200 Hour RYT Training and want to improve their teaching skills. Subjects covered include; the anatomy of yoga, balanced action in asana, teaching yoga philosophy through storytelling, and how to use concise, directional language when teaching. This course is YACEP approved and will count towards Yoga Alliance's required training hours.
